North Florida Educational Development Corporation (NFEDC) is a grass-roots organization located in the panhandle of North Florida, committed to empowering individuals and families in Gadsden, Liberty, Jackson, Calhoun, and Gulf counties. NFEDC also ensures that the needs of low-income communities are the top priority. The organization's by-laws require 51% of the Board's input, who are low-income community residents.
It is our Vision that each one
of us has a right to a just and equitable society; We must build our communities where families can live in a safe and profitable environment. They must be able to feed their families, educate their children, provide adequate healthcare and pursue happiness.
The Mission is to empower
individuals and families in Gadsden County to become more self-determined, self-sufficient, and self-sustaining; to develop mechanisms for direct involvement of all citizens and create a climate in which the community can develop cooperative solutions to individuals and community problems.
